Farmers only anticipate the inevitable

The bad news is we're all still Reds fans. The good news is Jay Bruce had another multiple-hit night, and with the dead man walking roaming center field and enjoying 0-for-8 nights, I think we can expect a Bruce promotion by this week, possibly for tomorrow's game.

Andy Green
Green

Triple-A: Andy Green homered twice as the Bats defeated Toledo 10-4. Green was 3 for 5, and Jolbert Cabrera fell a homer short of the cycle and finished with three RBIs. Drew T. Anderson doubled twice and also had three RBIs, and Jay Bruce, Andy Phillips and Kevin Barker had two hits apiece. UP NEXT:  Bats at  Columbus, 7 tonight.

Chris Valaika
Valaika

Double-A: Chris Valaika was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk in Chattanooga's 5-4 loss to West Tennessee. Valaika's been a lot better the past week or so. Danny Dorn doubled in 2 tie it up in the ninth, but Pedro Viola gave up a walk-off single in the bottom half. Seems like that's been happening a lot lately. UP NEXT: New series vs. Montgomery, 7:15 tonight.

Devin Mesoraco
Mesoraco

High A: Juan Francisco was 2 for 4 and Drew Stubbs reached base twice, but Sarasota lost 6-2 and split the series with St. Lucie (11-39), perhaps the worst team in Minor League Baseball. UP NEXT: New series at Fort Myers, tomorrow night.

Low A: Devin Mesoraco was 2 for 4 with his second homer of the season in Dayton's 6-4 win at West Michigan. Keltavious Jones was 3 for 4 with a walk, and Brandon Waring walked 3 times. Luis Montano (6-2) got the win, and Jeff Jeffords and Philippe-Alexandre Valiquette each offered a perfect inning of relief. UP NEXT: Game 4 at West Michigan, 2 today.
