Reds Sign Kerry Ligtenberg

From Yahoo:

The Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday signed veteran reliever Kerry Ligtenberg to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.

Ligtenberg, 35, spent last season with the Chicago Cubs' Class AAA affiliate at Iowa where he posted a 3.57 ERA and 18 saves in 53 appearences.

In eight major league seasons with four teams, Ligtenberg has a 3.82 ERA in 386 games, all in relief.

Potential closer I suppose, although I find it kind of discouraging that he couldn't crack the Cubs bullpen last season.

Also, Dmitri Young signed with ... wait for it ... the Nationals. Shocking, I know.
