Alright, nice thread on fantasy baseball for next year. I think there's enough interest that I'll revisit things in January or February and we'll definitely move forward with things. So if you were interested keep it in the back of your mind until then.
What we can move ahead with is an OOTP league.
If you don't own the game, you can read about it here.
If we move forward with a Red Reporter league I think it'd be smart to go with the newest version, simply to avoid having to switch for awhile. That can be open for debate though I suppose.
Slyde has offered website space to host the league, so we've got that taken care of.
What I need at this point is for people to sign up. This'll be a fairly dedicated league, so if you don't think you'll have time to spend then hold off for now. It's possible we'll have enough interest for more than one league, and maybe we could start a more casual league at a later date.
A more delicate topic for debate, and I'm just going to throw it out there, is that purely fictional leagues are a pretty good time. I don't know if people are married to the idea of real rosters or not, but the downside to having real rosters is that the league becomes pretty huge since every MLB franchise needs an owner.
So this use this thread to:
- Express interest in participating
- Discuss formats and league ideas
