It was there. The series win was there for the taking, both yesterday and today, and the Reds just couldn't grab it. The general consensus these days seems to be that one run games are essentially a matter of luck. I guess the luck is starting to turn. The Reds were 10-3 in one run games going into Saturday's game. This had to happen at some point.
Quick thoughts:
- Aaron Harang is outstanding sometimes. I don't really blame Narron for leaving him in to pitch the eighth, but it seems like Todd Coffey might have been a good move when things started to go sour. It's been a rough few days for Narron.
- Nate Robertson? Seriously? I can't really believe some of the guys shutting down the Reds this year.
- Lineup composition might not really matter in the long run, but I don't like seeing Dunn in the six hole.
- If you have a guy at third with nobody out he should probably score.
- And that's all I've really got. 1-0 games aren't boring by any means, but when they're over there's not a lot to say. "Pitching was good." "Yes. Yes, it was." Pretty much sums it up.
