- Elizardo Ramirez looked outstanding didn't he? I'm tempering the excitement because it's RFK Stadium, but if he could step up and continue pitching then ... yeah, things would get a little easier.
- Honestly, Todd Coffey probably ought to be closing at this point. But at the same time I'm pretty happy to see David Weathers with 5 saves. I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it: if the Reds can get him to 15-20 saves by the break then I hope they deal him. The return would be pretty solid.
- Livan Hernandez settled down and looked pretty tough after the first two innings. He's had some problems this year, but I think he'll turn things around pretty soon. I also found it annoying that Chris Welsh and George Grande kept talking about him like he had one foot in the grave. I mean, come on, the guys 31 years old. Given his durability and build it wouldn't surprise me to see him around for the next 7-8 years.
- Best 20 game start since '94. Its been an exciting month.
