Fleer Goes Under

I haven't collected cards in years, but this is still a shame:

Baseball card giant Fleer has disappeared like so many collections left in parents' attics.

On Thursday, it will go on the auction block.

The Mount Laurel-based company went out of business in May. Fleer's sports card and die-cast toy businesses will be auctioned off Thursday.

Supposedly Topps is also in trouble.

A moment of silence for the producers of the ugliest card set known to man, the 1982 Fleer:
