--- Joel over at Reds (and Blues) just returned from vacation.

--- Not Reds related, but I found this line hilarious:

"My season is when I get paid," he said flatly. "I'm not doing that. . . . I'm not sacrificing my body or taking a chance on an injury for something that's made up."

"This isn't the Olympics," he said. "That's a big difference. This is something you made up." -  Gary Sheffield on the World Baseball Classic.

--- Couple of days old, but it looks like Joe Randa won't be heading to the Indians:

The Indians are looking at some third-base options. They have talked to Cincinnati about Joe Randa, but the Reds seem to want to keep the 35-year-old veteran who is hitting .302 with 12 home runs and 45 RBI. His career average is .286. But if the Reds keep losing, this might change because the Indians do have some prospects to trade.

I'm praying the Indians just didn't offer enough.  Surely O'Brien isn't dumb enough to hold onto a 35 year old third baseman when the organization's top prospect is a third baseman at the AAA level. Right?
