Luis Lopez was placed on the 15 day DL today, and William Bergolla was called up.
Like most things these days involving the Reds I'm not sure the smartest action was taken. Bergolla doesn't need to be sitting on the bench in Cincinnati; he needs to be playing. D'Angelo Jimenez is being paid anyway, why not just call him up? No, he's not playing great in AA (to my honest surprise), but who honestly cares at this point? When the season's gone as it has all you should be concerned with is developing your future. Bergolla is a piece of the Reds future, and his development is stunted by not playing every day.
Then again Miley'll probably play Bergolla every day and bat him second, so what do I know anyway?
