Jay Bruce, the Reds first round draft pick, has already signed:
First-round pick Jay Bruce signed with the Reds this afternoon, getting a $1.8 million bonus. The outfielder from Beaumont, Texas had his mom and dad, girlfriend and a couple of friends in tow as he was introduced at Great American Ball Park. He put on a Reds jersey bearing his preferred number -- 32, recently available -- and sounded pretty confident about reporting to work in Sarasota next week.
It's interesting to me that he'll be skipping Dayton and going straight to high-A Sarasota, despite being a high school player.
Good to see him sign so quickly, he seems like an enthusiastic kid.
