Really doesn't come as a surprise with the way he's been pitching. The Reds continue to disappoint with their development of pitchers.

I think Shafer will be in a Reds uniform by the end of next season. Josh Hall wasn't pitching particularly well, but the Lookouts needed a replacement for Gardner.

Rich Aurilia was DL'd and Elizardo Ramirez was called up from AAA.
Hallelujah.
Felipe Lopez responded with a two run home run.
Ramirez may be a candidate for the rotation if Claussen has to miss time. He's pitched reasonably well at AAA, logging a 3.32 ERA in 38.0 innings of work. Ramirez has struck out 27 batters and only walked 5.
