At a Loss

I haven't posted since last night because I'm honestly at a loss for words.  How many different ways can I say that the Reds are terrible?

How many times am I going to have to say it this season?

We can get angry about the current roster moves, but there probably isn't a contending team in Cincinnati, regardless of lineup construction or AAA promotions.  It's just not going to happen, not this year at least.  So while playing Rich Aurilia makes the summer that much more painful, it probably doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.

What I really hate about the Reds at the moment is that I can't enjoy watching them in the slightest.  I wasn't terribly enthused about Harang's performance because I knew - with certainty - that a reliever was going to blow it.  The fact that it was Ryan Wagner simply made it that much harder to take.

This is a deeply flawed ballclub, and a deeply flawed system.

So, like the past few years, I now have to find pleasure in the little things.

Things like Aaron Harang's ERA standing at 3.45.  Or Adam Dunn's 1.052 OPS.

The little things are more than likely all we're going to salvage from this season.  We may as well enjoy them.
