Partners owning a combined 51% of the Cincinnati Reds Baseball Club will begin the process to sell their interest, it was announced today by Carter Randolph, spokesman for the Louise Dieterle Nippert Trust, one of three members of the selling group. The other members of the selling group are George Strike and Multimedia of Cincinnati, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gannett Co., Inc.
Paging this guy.
One would have to think that Carl Lindner will be selling his controlling shares at some point in the near future as well, so we may soon have entirely new ownership for the Reds. Whether that's a good thing of course remains to be seen, but can it really get much worse than Lindner? If the new owner is cheap then has anything really changed?
