Shouldn't surprise anyone. From Lancaster:
Two stars from the 1990 world championship team, Eric Davis and Jose Rijo, will be inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame this summer. The outfielder and pitcher edged out former teammate Tom Browning in fan voting for the Class of 2005. They will be joined by the founding brothers of Cincinnati professional baseball, 19th Century standouts Harry Wright and George Wright, who were selected by the veterans committee. The four inductees will be honored prior to the June 11 game against Baltimore at Great American Ball Park.
A total of 11,956 ballots were cast by fans from Jan. 15-Feb. 13, with 33.423 total votes counted. Davis led the way with 6,609 votes, followed by Rijo with 6,014. Browning just missed the cut at 5,822 and there was a big dropoff to the next three in line, Paul O'Neill (2,688), Chris Sabo (2,685) and Tom Seaver (2,589).
Eric Davis and Jose Rijo are both very deserving, and I imagine June 11th will be a great night to go to the ballpark.
I still haven't been to the Reds Hall of Fame, but I've heard great things and I'm excited to get down there this season.
