Winter Meetings Open Thread: Day 2

I thought it might be fun to have an open thread for each day of the Winter Meetings.  Here are the Reds rumors I'm seeing right now:

DanO looking at Kevin Millwood:

The club is talking about Cleveland free-agent pitcher Kevin Millwood, but so are richer teams and O'Brien is a bit gun shy after his marquee free agent signing last year.

Kearns to the Cards has been discussed:

Jocketty could again jolt the meetings by trading for a corner outfielder. Discussions have taken place with Cincinnati Reds general manager Dan O'Brien over the availability of Wily Mo Pena or Austin Kearns in exchange for pitching.

Kearns is also being looked at by the Cubs:

According to Bruce Levine of ESPN Radio 1000, the Austin Kearns trade talk has gotten serious and Jerome Williams, not Sergio Mitre, would be included in the deal.

And finally, there's no hurry to approve the new owners:

Major League Baseball's wheels are turning toward the approval of new Reds ownership, but a final resolution may drag into early next year.

The team announced last month that a group headed by Robert Castellini would be purchasing controlling interest in the Reds, but all ownership changes must be approved by MLB before becoming official.

MLB president and chief operating officer Bob DuPuy, the point man in all of baseball's ownership maneuvering, said Monday that the Castellini group's bid is still working is way through the due diligence process.

If anything happens today this'll be the place to post it.
