General manager Dan O'Brien spent his trip to the World Series this past week talking with several clubs about potential trades involving not only his wealth of outfielders but also his depth of catching talent.

Jason LaRue for pitching, and then Wily Mo or Austin Kearns for pitching?  Yeah, I'll take some of that.

I'm a big LaRue fan, but he's going to be 32 before next Opening Day.  That's getting up there for a catcher.  I don't really know about Valentin catching every day, but I'd gladly take an offensive hit if it could improve the pitching in a significant way.
