I haven't been following the sale of the team here that closely, because there's really nothing to follow. Reading the Cincinnati papers would make you think nothing's happening, but apparently JB knows what's happening:
"The farm system has been bad," said Bench, a 14-time National League All-Star. "We'll have new owners coming in the next week or two probably. I spoke to a prospective group of owners and their total desire was to try to get the farm system built back."I think since 1998 we've had three players come out of the draft and that stinks. The scouting was depleted. We lost a lot of great scouts. I just hope the new owners don't pay so much that they can't put money back into this system and to find a better way of doing things."
