I don't get it:

MLB to kids: You're not in our league (Southtown Star)

I understand that MLB has every right control its intellectual property. Hell, they have to aggressively protect their trademark or risk losing it. What I don't understand is how they can approach people who aren't using their logos or fonts. Better yet, how does it work with the Cardinals for example? Are there agreements between the AZ Cardinals, STL Cardinals and UL Cardinals?

What do you guys think of this? Are the fine folks at MLB overstepping their bounds and pissing off the types of people they should be actively courting? Or do they have a point?

Junior obviously controls his own destiny being a 10-and-5 guy, but in the article it sounds as though Seattle would be a perfect match from both sides. I truly doubt we're getting Clement under any circumstances, though.

This is what I like to see out of someone (especially a vet) on the team. Considering the article mentions that Weathers & Brantley are friends, hopefully Stormy's words sink in to Brantley.

The NY Daily News is reporting that noted slimeball Roger Clemens may have had a long-running affair with deranged hillbilly and former country music singer Mindy Mccready. The catch? It allegedly started when Clemens was 28 and Mccready was 15.

  Now I dislike Clemens as much as anyone out there, but I have a hard time believing this one. Mccready has had an, um, "interesting" life since hitting it big early on with her music. Not to mention - why would a 28 year old MLB superstar have an affair with a 15 year old back home when he could pull any tail he wanted from a huge East Coast city?

  If anywhere near true it kills that last bit of credibility he had left, no? And sinks his "he said-he said" case against McNamee I would think.

Wayne Krivsky fired, to be replaced by Walt Jocketty.

 Krivsky's gone, to be replaced by Jocketty, I'm assuming through at least the end of the year. I'll see if I can dig up anything else.

 You have to wonder what changes Walt Jocketty will look to make. He WAS the GM who put STL over the top by bringing in McGwire. so there's that I guess.

 But how well has the Cardinals farm system produced major league players recently? Other than Pujols and Wainwright, nothing really comes to mind.

 Thoughts anyone? Can he take us where we want to go?

Memphis reminds me of the early 90s UNLV teams, right down to the eventual sanctions that will follow them. They're amazingly athletic and tough to slow down. Kansas is a hell of a team, but Bill Self scares me a little to be honest. I predicted them to win because they and UNC had the ability to drop a 15-0 run on you before you knew what happened, but Kansas actually plays defense. My prediction: Kansas 87, Memphis 78 Your thoughts?
