A Fun New Toy to Play With

Pro-Football-Reference, one of my favorite football stat sites, has finally developed a similarity scores tool similar to the one they have for their baseball site. Essentially, it uses statistics to determine what players put up similar numbers through different stages and by the conclusion of their career. For instance, one could look at Muhsin Muhammad's page and see that at the 13-year mark in his career, he's had very similar numbers to players like Eric Moulds, Keyshawn Johnson, Joey Galloway, and even Hall of Famers Charlie Taylor and Charlie Joiner. Maybe nobody else is interested, but as a stats dork, I think it's a cool tool. Check out who our QB is similar to statistically. You might be surprised to discover he's put up similar numbers in a similar number of seasons to a certain famous brother who won a Super Bowl MVP a couple seasons ago.
