Oh My God Baseball Reference Is Amazing

Cincinnati Reds Franchise Depth Chart.

With daily updated stats. Unbelievable.

Ahem. Sorry about the cat thing. Seemed appropriate.

Make sure to check out the new BR front page too. Pitcher and batter game scores, pitching matchups, standings ... I don't really see much of a need to go to ESPN anymore.

Wow
Thanks for the links.  I have been checking b-r more frequently with the in-season stats, game logs and splits.  Even more features now.  Very, very nice!

Let me recommend
that if you've got a little money to blow and you like to answer questions just for the fun of it, throw money down on the BR subscription.  It's such a good product that I'd stake my reputation on it, and Sean Forman deserves to make lots of money off of it.  It's not just the depth of the data, it's the speed with which it returns.  It's faster and better than anything that any of the big media sites put together.

I have a problem with BR's expanded standings.
A problem as in I can easily lose twenty or thirty minutes every six hours examining them.

Check out the Reds "luck" (which is based on Bill James's pythag formula which can suposedly give a better indicator of what a team's win-loss record should be.)  The Reds have the worst luck in the Major Leagues.  Literally.  (Our boys are at -4 and only two other teams are even at -3.)

And enough with the damn cats and kittens!

Amen
The improvements to B-R are simply stunning.  I find something new (and awesome) every day.  I'm actually afraid to subscribe, because I can't process the free information, let alone bonus coverage.  And Slyde, I'm going to replace my ESPN tab with a B-R tab right now.

(One thing I haven't found, which ESPN has:  In-season sortables?)

Chris
It's not as easy to get to on BR, but it's there.  To get the full list, you have to have a subscription, but I can save the report to show you (another awesome feature for really complicated queries).

Here are the 2007 home run leaders.  Some bum named Rodriguez is first.  Some fat-ass named Dunn is second.

2007 Reds Threat Level is Blue

My first MLB game
Expos beat the Reds.  Johnny Bench was playing 3rd base.  Frank Pastore on the mound.  Oester and Concepcion manning the double play combo up the middle.

Gary Carter hit 2 HR's for the bad guys, driving in all 4 Expos runs.  One homerun dropped right in front of us in LF (remember the big gap they used to have between the seats and the wall?) The Reds couldn't touch Steve Rogers.

Reds lost, but they were then and always have been my favorite team.
