I was developing faith in Sarloss
He was one of the nice surprises so far this year.

Standridge got rocked in Toronto today.  He is pitching for the Royals now.

yeah, i was just thinking
saarloos might be one of krivsky's better acquisitions.

how come the pen gives up no runs, then all the sudden they give up 3 homers in 2 days?  (so far)

there is only limited talent in that pen.  I can't imagine these guys finishing the year with a pen ERA under 4.5.

Thom
is annoying as hell.  I'd rather have George Grande, and its not even close.  At least Grande blends in with the game so you can just ignore him if you want to.  Thom just yaps the entire game and does it so loudly that you can't drown him out.

I could listen to Jeff Brantley all day (I know some of you don't like him either), but Thom... I can't stand him on TV or radio.

by Blue on Apr 10, 2007 1:09 AM EDT reply actions

I like Thom...

It seems like he actually says the things I'm thinking.  It's great to have an announcer that will call the guys out for making boneheaded plays!

by chandrathan on Apr 10, 2007 10:14 AM EDT up reply actions

Yes, but
it seems like he spent a lot of the time focusing on the mistakes rather than calling the game.  I think he needs to balance it out a little more, especially because there were several times where Welsh was at a loss for what to say because the criticism just kept spewing.  I don't mind the critical nature of his broadcast, but I want to root for the team, not think about all of the ways they suck.  Does that make sense?

It makes sense...
But I loved it for Chris's reaction!  He was at a loss for words...He's used to the guy next to him promoting the Best Sports Show Period.

Plus I love the call of "Holy Moses".

I guess what I'm saying is, I Heart Thom Brennaman.

Aw
How sweet!  Chandrathan has a man-crush. :)

Maybe it'll be better once Welsh gets more comfortable with the complete opposite personality in the seat next to him.

Maybe they should have Thom and George call a game together.
