Boy, the Reds clubhouse is a regular plague house these days.

i've read that
a lot of clubs are having the same problem.  one team, i can't remember which, had a team meeting specifically on staying healthy.  must be this bizarre spring weather.
I hate work. Blessed be Baseball

Why make guys who are sick stay in the clubhouse or the dugout?  Send 'em home (or to the hotel, if they're on the road).

im sure no one but me cares, but...
maybe the code tag is a firefox-only issue. I switched over to IE and it looked fine. for those of you who get a ragged looking lineup (with the positions not aligned), are you on firefox?

by Alan @ Red Reporter on Apr 19, 2007 7:14 PM EDT up reply actions

Reds' lefty-righty splits...
...have gotten even more extreme:

            BA    OBP   SLG   OPS
VS. LEFT   .203  .269  .292  .561
VS. RIGHT  .266  .356  .416  .772

That makes the Reds the fourth worst in MLB (third worst in the NL) against lefties. But they're third best in MLB (and second best in the NL) against righties.

Hopefully, Hopper will help improve the numbers against lefties...

Yuck.
I'm watching Santana vs the Mariners on my computer right now, and the Mariners' broadcasters are absolute garbage.  One guy has a voice to make Diane Rehm proud, and both are just casually chatting, with zero insight.  If any of you have complaints about our crews, give a listen to the Mariners' guys - you'll never complain again!
More, more, more ....... how do you like it?

Reminds me...

By the way, check out J Sanchez's line from that game. And he picked off Pujols trying to go home.

From Jayson Stark at ESPN
The natural

As sensational as Josh Hamilton has looked in Cincinnati, don't expect him to turn into a seven-day-a-week regular quite yet. "We can't lose sight of the fact that he hadn't played for so long," GM Wayne Krivsky says. "Just going through the six-month season will be an adjustment for him, just playing and showing up and going through the grind."
So for now, the Reds still plan to pick and choose the pitchers Hamilton is most likely to have success against. But as good as he has looked, the Reds figure to be a lot less picky than they thought they'd be.

Adam Dunn is No. 1 in the league with 18 coming into today. He's also put up this line: 316/371/561=932 OPS. And 4 homers and 4 SB in 15 games. Those things are good, by the way.
