I thought it was "ozzie and the straw"
The power plant had won it
With Roger Clemens clucking all the while
Mike Scioscia's tragic illness made us smile
While Wade Boggs lay unconscious on the bar-room tile
We're talking softball
Maine to San Diego
Talking softball
Mattingly and Canseco
Ken Griffey's grotesquely swollen jaw
Steve Sax, and his run-in with the law
We're talking Homer...
Ozzie and the Straw.
It's three in the afternoon...
I'm not going to be 100 percent accurate...

Okay, Maybe not.
Our offense has to wake up. Seriously. We just got beat by the Giants AAA team. yuck.
Morron's fault
If he really cared
How in the world do
sanchez sucio
I propose
The most aggravating thing about this slide is how well the Phillies are doing now that they're free of Ranklin and Cormier, and how piss-poor we are with them. I wonder what the record of teams with Ranklin and/or Cormier on the active roster is...
It's more ovious every day!
Remember how we all were begging for decent pitching the first third of the season. Well they've gotten that the last third and they've fallen off badly.
Ross, Phillips, and Freel who were among the batting heroes the first third are in serious slumps. I would have played Valentin. Why didn't Hatteberg play today?
The bullpen has been doing well - 4 innings today with 2 hits and a run. No walks and 3 K's. And Kim pitched well too.
Now we have to find a couple of bats in the offseason. Any possible free agents looming?

Brandon Phillips these days...
"He might've been pointing at the center fielder." - Harry Doyle
Jerry is a goddamn hypocrite.
"No way. No. He's swinging the bat really well. Knew they were going to come in with Kline on Dunn and Dunn has just as good a chance of hitting the ball out of the ballpark as he does getting him in from third base.
"Shoot - you're going to take the bat out of the hands of the guy who's been your hottest hitter over the last 10 days? Not me."
Not that I disagree with that (I despise the sac bunt when done by non-pitchers), but holy hell, Jerry, where has that been all year? You've been the king of the idiotic sac bunt for the entire season and then switch it up here because it's Aurilia. BOO.
Sac bunts
Heck, could Jerry at least have told Aurilia to try and go the other way with it? Instead he's trying to pull the dang ball and hence the pop-up

sac bunts, sac flies and moving runners
If they don't win a game with the long ball they can't win. I'll give them credit for playing over their heads all summer and getting us to football season. Jerry, you and the kids are excused now. Run along and let real teams go at it in the playoffs.
oh yeah
Couple of things...
- I heard Marty's mention of Slyde on the radio today. Awesome!
- I am going to kill Ryan Franklin.
- If anyone mentions "Jerry Narron" and "Manager of the Year" in the same sentence ever again (and means it), I will vomit.
- Following this team huuuuurrrts.
Slyde
First no-hitter of the year!
Good.
Too bad only 12,000 people showed up to see it!
Yeah
i'd still take Beckett
The Bo Sox
The Padres with Josh Bard and Cla Meredith, and The Marlins with Hanley Ramirez and Sanchez.
I guess if Bronson didnt have his 2 month slump we could say they helped 3 teams.
Bring back Dmeathook!!
espn all time web gems
