Merry Christmas. I don't want to fight.
This is just fantastic.
Jim Day watches this to get himself in the mood.
And here is that home run, off a ball on the lower inside corner of the zone. Juan Francisco's Giant Splash Hit was the longest home run of the season to date, the second-longest HR in GABP history at a reputed 502 feet - and the only to clear the Moon Deck in the stadium's history. The distance was announced over the GABP pubic address system. As Slyde and Big League Stew notes, the 502 ft distance is disputed by ESPN's HR Tracker, which lists it at 482. That would bump it down to 6th longest in GABP history (though that list does not appear to have been updated since '08).
Scott Rolen is kinda funny. Also, Sean Casey is crazy.
Thanks to Boobs for the #Shoutout! @the_vole
That's right folks, MLB.com videos are embeddable now. Word.
For everyone who thinks that crashing the catcher adds little to the game, this play is amazing.
Astros Fan on Field Fan sets the bar for running onto a field in possibly the only park where this could happen. I think this deserves some good Astros futility humor that I know RR is capable of.
This was mentioned in a reposter awhile back and in a few comments, but I don't think it was ever posted (if it has been, feel free to delete this). Jonny Gomes went on E:60 to talk about his 2002 heart attack and about one of his close friends dying when he was young. It also has some good shots of Jonny's tattoos. If you haven't seen it, it is well worth watching.
