West Coast Trips
What has happened that the Reds can not manage to be competitive on the Coast? Maybe it is me but I thought they usually played close to .500 ball out there, or so it seemed. I think I heard one of the announcers say that they were 5-15 (or something like that) last season while playing at Arizona, Colorado, LA, and both Sans. This is a very depressing time to be a Reds fan. 11 games out on Mothers Day and mired in last place. 7 games under .500 with at least that many games blown by the pen and The Reds are sending EdE down. I can see this happening very, very soon:
If we have to look at the bright side at least Griffey is hitting well. It is fun to watch a guy with a sweet swing do well again after having lost so many games to injury. Phillips and Gone-zalez are having good seasons and Dunn is playing better. The starting pitching has been better than I expected and Hamilton is a damned good story no matter what happens the rest of the way. Hopefully Krivisky can find us some relief pitchers and a decent catcher would be nice as well. Sorry to ramble.
Happy Mothers Day and Hope Springs eternal!
Go Reds

Don't go over to the dark side!
(but only marginally less evil than Dodgers or Cardinals)

bright side
Gonzalez isn't having that good a year anymore. For the Reds to win, they need him to be player of the week every week. Griffey and Phillips can't carry this team by themselves. Remember when we had guys at every position who were capable of getting a hit? Thanks Wayne!
Bright side, long view
So that's cool, in a historical sense. Not doing us much good in the present though.
