Game Thread: Game 140 vs. the Giants

GIANTS PROBABLE: REDS PROBABLE:
Jonathan Sanchez (2-0, 1.37) Sun-Woo Kim (0-0, 19.29)
Not really sure if I'm happy about seeing Sanchez instead of Noah Lowry, but I guess we'll be finding out. Sanchez played his college ball at Ohio Dominican, so he's sort of a local guy.
Kim's 19.29 ERA is just funny to look at. He's been ok at AAA this year though, and he has a nice GB/FB ratio, so we'll see I guess.
Win here, get back to .500 heading into a series with Pittsburgh. You can't really ask for more than that.
Go Reds!

Comments: Reds lineup not bad at all, but seriously if Narron just HAS to play Clayton, dont bat the dude 2nd. Its all I ask.
The Giants are going with the get away lineup. No Vizquel, Feliz, Bonds, or Winn. Lets hope we can get some runs, and Early.

if sun woo kim somehow wins this game
I love the Beatles and
The part of Abbey Road where that song comes on is right after the flip, after "I Want You Shes So Heavy" has taken you down emotionally to about as sad and confused as you can be. Then along comes George's masterpiece (which he wrote in Eric Clapton's garden) and the rest of the album is the most beautiful piece of music ever laid down one one album side.
All that being said, seriously, how in the world could Sunny get a win here?
is castro still on this team?
that's a great way to start it

woohooo
I had to correct him on the Sun-woo shutout of the Giants last season.
He's my bitch.
he said that Kim never shutout the Giants
I sent him the retrosheet boxscore for 9/24/2005 Rockies-Giants game and told him that "I imagine Sun-Woo would be pretty sad to find out that he didn't pitch this game."
He corrected himself, blaming it on the note sheet they get in the press box. He read the email and pronounced my name very well actually (and it's rare people pronounce right at first sight). They talked about it for a good 5-10 minutes.

Dont be fooled into believing any record "Will never be broken." Even DiMagio's (sp?) will at some point. Forever is a long time, and it encapsulates everything.
Notes: Records like Cy Young's win mark will need a dramatic shift in philosophy, as most modern pitchers dont get as many career starts as he's had wins.
Tejada might well break it for one
nice
if you guys want something to do during the break,
sorry about the shameless plug, but i dont do that often.
you mean
I personally prefer the term "Ranklin"
i'm starting to hate this team
I remember back to the Trade
Then I continued to think the same thing about Franklin, Hollandsworth, Cormier...
OK, boobs, your buddy is one sick puppy.
This picture was on your buddy's blog, to which you directed us a while back. Maybe my mind is in the gutter, but you can't tell me that's not suggestive.
Is it wrong?
it must be your giant head
Let's see...
You are a Giants fan who comes around a Reds blog with this passive-aggressive crap about how bored you are with your team, apparently, blowing out the game such that it is no longer interesting to you.
That, dear sir, is trolling.
Now Gapper

As Assistant Regional Manager, I say we leave off of him. Unfortunately we have bigger trolls who claim to be Reds fans than Mr. Giant Head.
haha
That is not what I said.
by Ash on Sep 6, 2006 8:01 PM EDT up reply actions
Yup...
In all seriousness, I really don't care what you think about other teams' fans. I merely stated my opinion that going over to TrueBlueLA and telling the guy who runs the site that the Dodgers "fucking blow" (or whatever it was) isn't very cool. How do you feel when the Giants fan comes in here and says shit about the Reds? And honestly, how much can the Dodgers blow if they won all six games against the Reds this season? Just sayin'.
Anyway, if that makes me a "prude" then so be it. "I do but keep the peace."
</rant>
yeah, youre totally right
the 23rd looks like a saturday. i work on saturdays. thats gonna be tough... but if you see him, introduce your steel toes to michael, in my honor.
