SHackleford Arrested!

Milwaukee police arrested Cincinnati Reds pitcher Brian W. Shackelford on suspicion of third-degree sexual assault early this morning, said Anne E. Schwartz, police spokeswoman.
Shackelford, 29, whose address was listed as his hometown of McAlester, Okla., was arrested at 12:15 a.m. at Miller Park, the police arrest log says. He was in the jail at police headquarters downtown this morning.
Details of the allegations against Shackelford were not released.
"Because it is an on-going criminal investigation, I cannot comment further," Schwartz said.
Shackelford, a left-handed middle reliever, was called up to the major leagues by the Reds in June 2005. On Wednesday night, he pitched to one batter in the bottom of the 12th inning, striking out Prince Fielder. He was arrested after the 13-inning game. The Reds left town after the game and play in Atlanta tonight.

You guys sure...
Oh wait. If that were the case, the entire bullpen would have gotten arrested, along with Brandon Claussen and Joe Mays.
Eric Milton would get a warning.

Ok I am sorry
It probably happened earlier, like Monday or Tuesday, and the Milwaukee Police waited until the Reds were on their way out of town.

generally speaking
Have the Reds suspended him or made a statement? This is a lot like the situation with the Phillies pitcher who beat his wife recently. For the good of the player he needs to be sat down.

unbelievable
B) is it that hard to meet someone as a professional athlete that you have to post yourself on match.com
C) Don't you know what you're getting urself into when you go to summerfest...let me fill you in, shack, you go, get wasted beyond belief, and then attempt to attend as many drunken concerts as possible.....with a few drunken sexcapades in between.....except, you're a pro athlete, you can participate in these things bc the whole world and their kids are watching you.
D) what is up with all of these young, cocky, and rich 20-something athletes that are coming up today thinking they can run around acting like idiots and take advantage of the system. You can only get away with so much. Do they not appreciate where they are and what they're doing? Do you see Lebron not owning up to his kid or running around acting like an idiot? Come on, the boy is a BOY and we have these almost 30 year-old guys running around getting DUI and rape charges pinned against them. Be a professional or get out of your profession
And Lastly, it seems as though professional athletes forget that they have picked this life (may i remind them, a life of millions of dollars and playing games as their job), and they need to remember that millions of children are looking to them and are wanting to be just like them someday.....its time's like these that I really respect Ken Griffey Junior.....the man in a saint in my book and I've watched him grow up as a respectful pro baseball player since i was a kid.....hell yeah griffey!

rape charges
As for the post on match.com, it sounds like he isn't exactly into the normal relationship kind of stuff. If you like getting freaky, then the internet is a pretty good place to start to find someone else with your interests. At least, that's what I hear.
