Famers Only Weekend Harvest: Wins. Walkoffs. Wangers

Look how happy they are.

Louisville

On Friday, the Bats had their last game against Charlotte banged because of some rain.  So, there will probably be a double header the next time they play Charlotte.  Saturday, the Bats squeaked out a 2-1 victory over the Indianapolis IndiansJair Jurrjens had probably his best start for the bats (7 IP, 6 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 SO).  Curtis Partch and Justin Freeman pitched scoreless innings.  Hernan Iribarren and Kris Negron had the big RBI singles in the 7th.  Sunday afternoon, David "Mongo" Holmberg came up big in a 1-0 victory.  He went 6.2 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 4 BB, and 4 SO.  Partch, Villareal, and Ryan Dennick let their powers combine to finish the shutout.  Donald Lutz! had the RBI single to break the scoreless tie in the 8th and he walked.  Josh Smith will pitch tonight against Columbus at 7:05 pm.

Pensacola

Friday night, the Wahoos play their second game of the series against the Chattanooga Lookouts with a disappointing 7-3 loss.  Bob Steve was Bad Steve (5.0 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 5 K).  His ERA is 4.17 on the season.  Brodie Green had two walks and a single, Kyle Waldrop had 2 hits including a double, and Ryan Wright! had 2 hits including a double and a RBI.   Saturday, things went better with a 3-1 win.  Things went better because they always do with Ben Lively (5.2 IP, 3 H, 0 ER, 3 BB, 5 SO).  Fabian Williamson and Shane Dyer had scoreless appearances from the pen.  Yorman Rodriguez had a very unYorman kind of day with 3 walks.  Kyle Waldrop went 2 for 5 with 3 RBI.  Pensacola opened their series with Jacksonville on Sunday and they pooped to bed, losing 12-6.  Little Dan Corcino apparently was not the man with the plan (4 IP, 3 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, 1 HR).  Apparently, no one else had a plan, either, except for maybe Elvin Ramirez.  He was the only one not to give up a run.  Yorman "The Walkin' Dude" Rodriguez took two more free passes.  He must have known I'd been doggin' him.  Marquez Smith and Ryan Wright both hit 3 run tater tots.  Smith also had a double and a walk.  Jonathon LeRoy Moscot will be pitching tonight at 6:30 pm CST.

Bakersfield

Friday evening, the Bakersfield Blaze got off to a good start against the Stockton Ports with an 8-7 walk off win.  Ismail Guillon was wildly ineffective (2.2 IP, 4 H, 7 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, and 3 HR).  Daniel Renken, Mike Dennhardt, and Jimmy Moran all had scoreless appearances.  Dennhardt pitched 4.2 innings with 5 strikeouts.  Fortunately for the Blaze, they scored 6 runs in the last two frames.  Sebastian Elizalde was 2 for 5 with a double and 3 RBI.  John Tolisano hit a 2 run Johnson in the 8th.  Saturday was a game not to remember, with the Blaze losing 10-0.  Daniel "Not Ryan" Wright got the start and did right by his team (6 IP, 4 H, 3 ER, 2 BB, 9 K, 1 HR).  The bullpen sucked.  Jeff "The Peanut Butter" Gelialich had 2 hits.  Sunday, saw the John Tolisano flex his muscles again, hitting a walk off wanger in the bottom of the 11th.  The Blaze won 7-6.  Drew Cisco got the start.  He gave the Blaze and quality start, but also gave up 3 solo shots (6 IP, 6 H, 3 ER, 0 BB, 1 SO).  Sean Buckley wanted to show everyone that he has muscles too, by hitting a 2 run panty dropper in the 6th.  He also had double and picked up another RBI, for a total of 3 on the day.  Wandy Peralta pitches tonight.

Dayton

Friday night, the Dragons were destroyed by Lake County 11-2.  Naughty Nick Travieso had a weird night (4 IP, 9 H, 10 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 8 K, 1 HR).  He was showing some strikeout stuff, but was smacked around.  Nolan Becker and Pedro Diaz had scoreless appearances.   Jonathan Reynoso had 2 walks, and Tanner Rahier had a RBI single and a walk.  Saturday, Stonewall Jackson Stephens pitched 4.2 innings, giving up 5 hits, 2 earned runs, 1 walk, and 2 strikeouts in Dayton's 3-2 loss.  Scott Brattvet also pitched 3.1 scoreless innings, striking out 4.  Big Jon Matthews hit a solo rally killer in the 2nd inning, and Jose Ortiz was 2 for 4 with a double.  Dayton finally got a victory against Lake County on Sunday by a score of 3-2.  Amir Garrett went 3 innings, giving up an unearned run, and striking out 4 with no walks.  Zack Weiss pitched 3 scoreless innings with 3 strikeouts, and Joel Bender picked up the win, giving up a run in 3 innings with a walk and 4 strikeouts.  Daniel "Sounds like a Pokemon" Pigott had 3 hits, and Carlton Daal was 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored.  Sal Romano will start tonight at 7.

Billings

Friday, Billings was manhandled by the Helena Brewers 13-2.  Tyler "Needs The Force" Mahle had what you would consider a bad night (2.1 IP, 10 H, 8 ER, 0 BB, 2 SO).  Mike Saunders pitched a scoreless inning with 2 strikeouts.  Nick Benedetto had 2 singles and a run scored.  Helena continued the beating on Saturday, beating the Mustangs 8-1. Jeremy "Hitmonlee" Kivel also had a poor outing (3 IP, 5 H, 5 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, 1 HR).  Brennan Bernardino pitched 2.1 scoreless innings.  Brian "Beef" O'Grady had a RBI single.  Sunday saw Billings finally get off the schnide with a 4-3 victory.  Luke "Learn to read" Moran pitched 6 innings, giving up an earned run from 2 hits, 2 walks, and 5 strikeouts.  His lone earned run came from a solo home run.  Brian "Oh Baby" O'Grady had 2 hits, and Kevin Franklin was 2 for 4 with a double and a RBI.  Mike Saunders will take the hill tonight at 7:05 pm MST.
