It’s still a little early, but soon the Reds are going to make some decisions, I hope, about what to do this season. Are they buying or selling? If the Reds continue with the current roster, even if everyone comes back healthy, they have little chance to make it deep into the playoffs and contend for the World Series. The Reds are spending too much money to not be a contender. They could scrap it all this season, restock the farm system and get a jump on rebuilding/replacing players for 2015 and 2016. If we’re not willing to throw in the towel, then what do the Reds need to make them a serious contender this season? First off, I think they need a healthy and productive Bruce and Votto. Also need Latos to come back and pitch well, plus the odd man out to provide stability to the Bull Pen. With all that, I think they are still 1 player short. It’s too early to tell who will be available if the Reds decide to be buyers, but if you could replace 1 guy in the starting lineup, anyone, that would make you think the Reds could win it all, who would you get?
