Mike Leake v. J.A. Happ

The best thing about baseball is that when you have games like last night, you can go to the ballpark the very next day and completely forget about it.

The Reds need to move on tonight, and hopefully last night will prove to be a wakeup call for the ailing bullpen. The Reds will need Mike Leake to step up and eat a few innings today, which might be a tough ask considering Leake hasn't made it out of the 6th inning so far in June. He gave up 3 runs in 7 innings in his only career start against the Blue Jays.

The bullpen will have a little help today, too. The Reds finally designated Roger Bernadina for assignment, and called up Carlos Contreras from AA Pensacola. Contreras was an easy decision since he was already on the 40-man, and could be a temporary fix to give the guys down there already a break if they need it tonight.

They'll hope to get to the Toronto starter early again like they did last night, this time coming against a more familiar foe in former Phillie and Astro J.A. Happ. Happ has an ERA over 4 so far this year, but only gave up 1 run in 6 innings in his last start. He has a 7.16 ERA at GABP in 3 starts.

Go Reds! They're my favorite team!
