Opening Day is finally upon us, and I couldn't be happier about it. The Reds jump right into the deep end this year, facing off against the reigning division champs. The injury bug will prevent Devin Mesoraco from making his first Opening Day start, but Brayan Pena should be just fine filling the role until he gets back. Despite a rash of spring training injuries, the rest of the lineup is surprisingly healthy.
Johnny Cueto gets the start for the Reds today, his 3rd Opening Day in a row. He has 15 career starts against St. Louis to the tune of a 4.66 ERA, but hasn't faced them since April 17, 2012, where he gave up 1 run in 7 innings of work. Most of the Cardinals lineup hasn't faced Cueto, which could prove advantageous.
Bullpen log is my best guess.
Go Reds! They're my favorite team!
