Rawlings has announced the finalists for this year's Rawlings Gold Glove Awards, presented by Rawlings, today. Brandon Phillips, Zack Cozart, and Billy Hamilton were nominated at second base, shortstop, and center field, respectively. That's pretty cool, as they were pretty dang good at defense this season and are definitely deserving of it. They all have strong chances of taking the hardware too, so that's pretty cool. High fives all around.
However, Todd Frazier is noticeably absent from the list of finalists at third base. He has worked himself into a legit-ass glove man at the hot corner, but instead the finalists are all NL Westers: Nolan Arenado of Colorado, Juan Uribe of Los Angeles, and Pablo Sandoval of San Francisco. Arenado won the thing last season, so it seems like he's a good bet to win it, but dang. I was really hoping Todd would get some dap.
Still, it's hard to be salty about it. BP, Go-Kart, and The Hamiltornado are all perfectly deserving and should be high-fived to the extreme. Congratuations, all.
