After a bittersweet ending to one of the biggest series of the year so far, it's time to take this act on the road. This road trip will be a true test, as it's the first "West Coast swing", and is against 3 teams who are well above .500 on the year. This series starts against the NL West leading Diamondbacks.
The Reds will start off going up against Wade Miley, who was an all-star last year but is sophomore slumping pretty hard this year. He has a 4.26 career ERA against Cincinnati in 2 starts, and is coming off of 3 quality starts in a row on the road. He gave up 7 runs in each of his last home starts, so hopefully the Reds can recognize that and get to him early.
Cincinnati will counter with Johnny Cueto, who gave up 1 run in 6 innings in his first start back after aggravating his back injury. Cueto has been historically great against Arizona, with a 1.66 ERA total in 6 starts.
Let's start this series off on a good foot. Go Reds.
