Farmers Only: Is Daniel Corcino broken?

Chad Reineke - -ManBearPig

One of the Reds' top pitching prospects is pitching more like Lil Eric Milton than Lil Cueto.

  • Louisville lost to Gwinnett, 7-3. Sean Marshall "started" and gave up 2 hits in his scoreless inning. Then came Daniel Corcino. He proceeded to help the Bats about as much as Kim Kardashian would've helped the women's suffrage movement. In his 2.1 innings, he hacked up 7 runs on 8 hits, striking out 2 and walking one. AAA has been hell on Corcino, and I wouldn't be shocked if he's back in Pensacola after a few more rough starts. Emmanuel "No Thanks" Burriss was the only Bat with multiple hits, and even though they loaded the bases with no outs in the ninth, it was a pretty yawny offensive performance. Two more things: 1) when did the Reds sign Mike MacDougal? and 2) Mike MacDougal's middle name is Meiklejohn. Seriously. Whaaaat in all the shits is up with that? Up next: Chad "Car Care" Reineke (3-0, 0.61) looks to keep up his hot start against Gwinnett at 6:35.
  • Pensacola rode a 5-run seventh to beat Jackson, 8-4. Chad Rogers pitched seven good innings, giving up 3 runs (1 earned) with a pair of walks and 5 strikeouts. Theo "Huxta" Bowe sweatered a couple of doubles, and Donald Lutz drove in two with a seventh-inning triple, the Knockwurst's second (!) of the year. Every Wahoo but Bryson Smith and Devin Lohman scored a run, and only the latter was held hitless. Up next: Ryan "NASCAR Driver" Dennick (1-0, 2.65) against Tennessee at 7:15.
  • Bakersfield lost a slugfest to High Desert, 13-9. Yorman Rodriguez continued to flash emerging in-game power, connecting for a homer and an RBI single as part of his 2-4, zero K night. Marquez Smith was a double short of the cycle, and Ryan Wright was joined by Juans Silv-a and -erio* in collecting 3 hits apiece. Blaze starter Jake Johnson got absolutely mutilated, giving up 8 runs on 10 hits before bleeding out after 3 innings. Brooks "Pocket Protector" Pinckard gave up 4 runs in 2/3 of an inning of relief, too. The Cal League, folks. Up next: A game will be played at 7:05 Weezt Coast Time (am I allowed to call it that?)
    *Juan Silva and Juan Silverio
  • Dayton lost to Lansing, 3-1. The Dragons were held to 3 hits on the night. Water is wet. Just piss-poor offense from the firebreathers, yet again. Drew Cisco started and went 7 innings, giving up 3 runs on 6 hits, with no walks and 5 K. Up next: Sal "Show Me the Carfax" Romano (1-2, 1.69) faces Peoria at 7.
