On this day in 1907, former Red Vern Kennedy was born in Kansas City, MO. Kennedy joined Cincinnati midway into the 1945 season. He went 5-12 with a 4.00 ERA (94 ERA+) in over 157.2 innings for the Reds that season. 1945 was Kennedy's last season in the major leagues, but he played in the minor leagues for another nine years before retiring.
