On this day in 1977, former Red Hod Ford died in Winchester, MA at the age of 79. Ford played for Cincinnati from 1926 through 1931. He earned MVP votes in 1928, though for the life of me I have no idea why. Total Zone really loves his glove that year, but he hit a paltry .241/.308/.291 (58 OPS+). Despite my wishful thinking, he never went by the nickname, Hod "Rod" Ford, which is a real shame. Can't you imagine him coming to the plate to this?

On this day in 1984, the Reds signed infielder Jeff Treadway. He predominantly played second base in his nine-year big league career, which included 126 total games with the 1987-88 Reds.

On this day in 1990, the Reds signed utility player Skeeter Barnes. Though he would not appear in another game for Cincinnati, Barnes had very short stints with the Reds in 1983, 1984, and 1989.

On this day in 2007, former Red Art Fowler died in Spartanburg, SC at age 84. Fowler pitched for Cincinnati in four seasons in the mid-1950s. Fowler had about as late of a start to his career as any genuinely productive player in the 20th century; he made his big league debut at age 31 in 1954. His brother, Jesse, pitched 13 games for the St. Louis Cardinals in 1924.

DerekH91 and ken each earned a point last time.

1) Art and Jesse Fowler hold two major league records for brothers. What are they? Each correct answer will earn a point.
