Farmers Only: Now With More Polls!

  • Louisville...oh Louisville. Remember when you were the juggernauts of the International League? Yeah...those days are long gone. The Bats were three-hit by the Columbus Clippers, losing 2-0. Todd Redmond did the damn thing in his 6-inning start, allowing just 5 hits, striking out and walking 2 guys. Guess who gave up the 2 runs. No, not Josh Judy (2 batters faced, 2 outs). Nope, not Billy Bray (a walk in 1 hitless inning). It was Logan Ondrusek! 2 runs on 4 hits and a walk in 1.1 innings of work. Remember when he was pitching the 8th inning? Good times. H-Rod, Didi, and Neftali Soto had the lonely singles for the Bats. Up next: Pedro Villarreal (3-11, 4.70) against the Clippers at 7:05.
  • Pensacola was Isaac'd. They'll resume games when hell isn't raining from the sky.
  • Bakersfield mounted a late comeback, scoring 7 unanswered runs to beat Visalia 10-6. Steve Selsky led the 14-hit barrage with a 3-4 night, bigfooting his 14th of the year and knocking in 3. Juan Duran and Dominic D'Anna also had 3 hits apiece, and Theo Bowe stole 2 more bags from the leadoff spot. Call me when ya hit triple digits, champ. Chris Berset and Stephen Hunt also honked wangers. Stalin Gerson started and sucked. Up next: Tim "Ten Points from Slytherin" Crabbe (4-1, 3.40) against Visalia at 7:05 Weezt Coast time.
  • Dayton beat the Whitecaps 9-3, no thanks to that bum Joey Votto. That big-league hot shot thinks he can come into Dayton like he runs the place. He didn't even get a hit! He walked once and struck out once. That guy will never amount to nothin' I tell ya. The Dragons enjoyed back-to-back chutzpahs from Yorman Rodriguez and Juan Silva in the fourth to back a strong outing from James Allen, who went 7 innings and only gave up a pair of runs on 4 hits. He walked no one and whiffed 5. Silva and Nick O'Shea each had 3 hits, and Our-Man, Silva, and Sammy Diaz, Jr. accounted for all 9 Dragon runs. Up next: Ismael Guillon (1-0, 2.31) takes on the Loons at 7.
  • Billings fought back from a late Helena rally to win 7-6. Jesse "Rip Van" Winker continued his all-out assault on the Pioneer League's pitchers, going 3-4 with two chrome nuns, 3 RBI, and 3 runs. No other Mustang had multiple hits, though Carlos Sanchez did go deep as well. Joel Bender was the only pitcher not to give up any runs (5 IP, 1 H, 2 BB, 3K) as Jesus Adames (really?), Michael Salter, and Matt Wiley all did their damnedest to give away the game. Up next: 2012 3rd-rounder Lang Danfield Dan Langfield (3-0, 2.48) looks to build on a solid season against the Hell-Brewers at 10:05.
  • The AZL Reds got their little baby tushies whupped by the Brewerinhos, losing 8-2. The pitchers were hittable, the hitters were pitiful, and that was that. Wilfrel Estevez quacked a mighty duck. That's all I got. Up next: Lil' Dodgers at 10.

And since I'm feeling frisky, let's implement a new thang here at Uncle Weez's Farmers Only Fun Time Round Up Corral (you know that shit is TM'd). Since Billy Hamilton broke a record this year, we're going to provisionally call it the Tasty Snax Minor Leaguer of the Day award. So without further Freddy Adu, here are your choices:
