There are games you should win, games you shouldn't win, and games that you should have won. Last night's win against the Tigers turned from a game they should win into a game they shouldn't have won after the seventh inning. Nonetheless, the Reds found a way to get the W by going Up the Junction with a Squeeze play by Wilson Valdez. That's good news because their efforts now turn to a game they shouldn't win. Really, nobody should win when Justin Verlander pitches except for the team he is pitching for; the Tigers. However, what the Reds need to do today is turn the tables and make this a game the Tigers should win into one they should have won.
The Reds will try to clinch a series win today against AL Cy Young and MVP Justin Verlander. In doing so, they'll counter with Bronson Arroyo who very well may be up to the task of matching Verlander inning for inning (though the amount of runs he'd give up during that time is another debate). Meanwhile, on the offensive side, the Reds really need to start letting Joey Votto hit before and after Joey Votto. That's pretty much the only way to guarantee solid output. In the alternative, hopefully Brandon Phillips and Chris Heisey can shake off their mini-slumps and get the Reds on the board early before Verlander gets his momentum going.

Here are the lineups, subject to phantom injuries and Jim Leyland being an old coot:

1. Cozart, SS
2. Heisey, CF
3. Votto, 1B
4. Phillips, 2B
5. Bruce, RF
6. Ludwick, LF
7. Frazier, 3B
8. Hanigan, C
9. Arroyo, P

1. Jackson, CF
2. Boesch, LF
3. Cabrera, 3B
4. Fielder, 1B
6. Santiago, SS
7. Laird, C
8. Worth, 2B
9. Verlander, P

Go Reds! They don't have to live in Detroit!
