Brandon Phillips has provided a stone mountain of highlights with his gold glove over the years. Theres always a debate over style points versus degree of difficulty with any web gem (since this is an ESPN term of art, let's vote on an alternative), but as far as video highlights go, flair matters.
I think that's what's nice about a highlight. It's universal. I get tingly watching the Jay Bruce clinch HR, but few fans of other teams would be willing to watch it more than once. If that.
For my money, this is the most entertaining highlight from recent years that does not require any context (game winning hit) or explanation. But there have been a fair number of Cozart grabs, Chapman Ks and long distance Stubb Snares that could convince me otherwise.
BONUS: The best highlight involving Brandon Phillips and Cliff Lee
I'd forgotten about this thing that happened. It annoyed me at the time, as any series against the Phillies in the last five years or so has. But now it seems kinda funny.
