Farmers Only: How Long Until the Blaze Change Their Name to The Snax?

  • Louisville won last night, beating the PawSox 6-3. The Bats are on a tear right now, winning their 8th straight last night, their 9th of the last 10 games. Felix Perez had a nice day at the office, going 3-4 with a django and a double. Chad Reineke did what was asked of him, but not much more, going 6.2 IP with 3 ER, 4 K, and 2 BB. Jordan Smith and his ears got the save. Up Next: The Bats ship off to Buffalo to take on the Bisons at 7:05 pm. Starters TBD.
  • Pensacola lost to the Lookouts 3-2. Despite getting 11 hits and one walk on the night, the Wahoos only managed to scrape out two runs. Chattanooga scored three of their runs (all charged to starter J.C. Sulbaran) off of three measly hits. The Hellflower was firing on all cylinders, going 4-4 with a double. Up Next: The Jackson Generals head to Pensacola for a 8:00 EST tilt. Starters TBD.
  • Bakersfield lost in walk-off fashion to the Visalia Rawhide 5-4 in 10 innings. Billy Hamilton, fresh off a weekend where he stole 8 bases in 3 games, went 1-4 with a walk and his 91st steal of the year. Seriously, 91 steals in the month of June is insane. The ginger, Bryson Smith, went 1-5 with a golden sombrero. Michael Griffin gave up the winning run in the 10th, and was tagged with the loss. Up Next: Josh Smith (6-4, 3.66 ERA) faces Visalia at 10:00 EST.
  • Dayton got whoop'd by the Lake County Captains, in a 8-3 game. Our man Yorman Rodriguez has picked up right where he left off in Bakersfield in his first four games back in Dayton, going 3 for his first 17 in four games. Hopefully he can shake off the monkey that has been on his back so far this year. He went 0-5 last night. Ryan Wright tried as he might, going 3-4 with 2 doubles and 2 runs batted in. Tanner Robles got the loss. Up Next: Stalin Gerson (3-5, 4.64 ERA) takes on the Captains at 7pm EST.
  • Billings beat the Great Falls Voyagers 5-2. Ismael Guillen had a solid night, fanning 6 over 4 innings, while allowing 2 free passes and a run. Lucas O'Rear (tee-hee) got the win in a 2.1 IP performance. Up Next: Billings have another fantastic voyage at 9 pm EST.
  • The AZL Reds lost 8-6 to the Mariners despite a 9th inning comeback attempt. Donald Lutz made his 3rd rehab appearance, going 1-3 with a walk. Dennis Phipps, also rehabbing an injury, went 2-5. Up Next: The Reds take on the Giants at 10:00 pm EST.
