What we used to know as Game 2 - and felt like a private party at the ballpark - they're now calling "Opening Night," which I think will confuse more than a few elder theater patrons, especially with the tuxedos that ushers are wearing. They're pulling out all the stops, with Saturday Night prime time, a player meet 'n' greet, live music, fireworks and free calendars. Hope they're 18 month.
Red Reporter is out in force tonight on the moondeck, so check with @redreporter and any other twitter account for someone you know is in Cincinnati and enjoys drink.
I already blew through several wads saying everything I know about Mat Latos. But one reason that analysts are more down on the Reds' rotation than we might be here at Red Reporter is that Latos didn't pitch like the ace last season the Reds expect him to be, given his home park. He put up a 102 ERA+ last season, which is fairly pedestrian. Considering his health/velocity issues in early 2011 and being all young, I'm not concerned about his ceiling.
Lineups after the jump. Chris Heisey gets the start tonight, possibly because Nolasco is a power righty and Latos puts it in the air more than Cueto. Meso hits 8th.
