After one of the wildest off seasons in recent memory our favorite baseball team will take the field against the Florida Marlins tomorrow, kicking off another glorious summer of baseball. Hope truly springs eternal this year after the Reds went "all in", acquiring anyone and everyone they thought could help the team get to the playoffs (Latos, Madson, Ludwick, etc) while dropping dead weight along the way (looking at you, ROARnish). This is our year, I can feel it.
I'll be in attendance tomorrow, wearing the same sleeveless jersey that brought Opening Day magic last year. Me and my demon spawn will be throwing back terrible hot dogs, popcorn, and candy in the all you can eat section if anyone wants to swing by and say hi and grab a free bite. This will be the 11th straight OD for me and the boy and while we haven't had the best of luck (4-6 record so far), we're trending in the right direction.
My questions for Red Reporter are as follows:
- How many of you are going to the game? Does anyone want to meet up at some point?
- If you're not going to the game, where will you be watching?
- Do you have any strange rituals while watching or attending Reds games? Lucky hat, cup, chair, stuff like that?
- How many hot dogs do you think I'll eat during the game? Please note - I will not be drinking.
Sister D has taken on the task of mobilizing our DC contingent, do any of our other displaced fans have any ideas for meetups around the country?
Even if you're stuck at work or unable to watch for some reason, enjoy tomorrow anyway. It's baseballmas, baby! Go Reds!
