I'm right here, bub.
The leagues should be set up shortly. And speak up, sonny. I can barely hear you.

How long we thinking till the draft?
I’ll have to take off work.

Would it not make sense to do it as close to Opening Day as possible
to see what happens in spring training with injuries, send downs, trades and whatnot?

Good point.
I need to know whether to draft Chapman as an SP1 or SP2.

That's what I figured. But, you never know.
I figured it wouldn’t be for a couple more weeks. I only need about a weeks warning anyway so i can get days switched up.

It seemed the consensus was that a Sunday night around 9 would
work for the majority of people. I was looking at 3/18 or 3/25 for possible draft days.

Word!
I feel like we should have a preliminary 6 round draft where we can only take pitchers and catchers!

A friend of mine tracked down Tourette's guy.

I'd like to play
the deeper the league the better imo.
How does Yahoo compare to CBS? I heard CBS, because they are the “official fantasy baseball league of MLB”, basically sets up a private channel that lets you watch your guys as they come up to bat, are pitching, etc.
Yahoo is the way to go
I use the CBS fantasy sports sight for their player analysis, but in my opinion Yahoo has a better setup and their stat tracker window is great for following multiple games and your players.

I too would like to play...
Admittedly, I’m mostly a lurker here, but it’d be fun to be in a league with reasonably informed baseball-type peoples.
dynasty league
is anyone on here deep into dynasty leagues? I’m thinking I’d like to get involved in one, I’ve never been in one before but I feel like I follow baseball so much anymore that I’d like to try it. Anyone have any open spaces for a rookie?
I'd echo this sentiment
I would assume you have to pay for that type of league setup, but I’ve always been interested and don’t know enough people who would be into it
Fuck lion say what! i got a fuck lion now come fuck wit me
count me in
I’d love to join if there’s room.
Keepers are great, but only if you can get the same crew year to year
otherwise its a clusterfuck, you can’t have guys like nycredsfan go and just fall off the brooklyn brigde

Very true
I would love to join a keeper league (especially with fellow Reds fans) but if someone disappears everything goes to shite. Ideally, you would want all the members within driving distance so if soemone stops playing you can go to their house and kick them in the taint.
Havng said that, I’ll risk my taint if anyone wants to start a league.
Check it out. New guy shows up and throws his taint right down on the table.
Impressive.
How about you agree to waive the fine and I promise not to email you the remaining eighty six photos of my dog dressed as a bear.

Multiple RR leagues
I threw this idea out a few years ago before the community blew up in size. There was decent interest but nothing came of it.
What if we did English soccer style relegation between multiple RR leagues? So there’s a premiere league and if you finish lower than 6th or something you’re dropped down to the second division league with other teams playing their way up. I see a lot of advantages here:
1) Obviously teams down in the standings still have something to play for, reason to set lineups. This solves one of the major problems with fantasy leagues among semi-anonymous internet friends—the teams that give up or disappear.
2) Unlike in a keeper league league if a manager were to drop out unexpectedly he or she could easily be replaced without harming the league. We’ve got plenty of people waiting in the wings to step up.
3) Just being in the top league would be an achievement. This solves the fundamental problem of fantasy leagues—one winner and nine to eleven people who hate their lives. Sure, you’ve never won. But you’ve been in the premiere RR league for three years. Hold your head high!
So there would be no first division this year. But just looking at the responses here I bet we could have three leagues. So say two 10 team leagues and one 12 team league. Next year the top three from the 10 teamers and the top four from the 12 teamer form the first premiere league. Others still playing in their second year form the second division. Any new players who want to join form a third league (or fourth).
Thoughts?

Red Menace the only truly qualified RR to manage the Reds.
