We should be glad we didn't sell the farm for Ubaldo Jimenez
It's fair to say he has sucked balls since the trade to Cleveland.
4-4, 5.10 ERA
5 QS in 11 total starts
3 starts of 5 or more ER
9 K/9, 4 BB/9
Peripherals not horrible, not sure why he's been so lousy. Who knows what might have happened if he was pitching in GABP instead, but I'm glad we didn't overpay for a guy who's not an ace.

If his peripherals look good, perhaps we should be targeting him.

His average FB velocity is still down almost 2 mph
though it’s risen in his last three starts. Not sure why that is, but his FB is definitely more hittable and there’s less of a gap contrast with his change-up.

isn't that what they always say about Colorado?
Fastballs are faster there, but the breaking balls don’t break as much.
Of course, if that was the problem, you’d expect it to show up at away games before he was traded.

yeah
If we traded the farm for Ubaldo this year, it might not have gotten us to the postseason this year, but I’m guessing it would help us next year.

Something seems fishy about that deal to me.
It never really made sense to me why the would be shopping Ubaldo in the first place, unless there was something the Rox knew and no one else did.
Let a man come in and do the Popcorn.
i was anti Ubaldo
I just don’t think a franchise trades a pitcher of that stature who is that young and under team control for that amount of time without there being SOME reason they’re trading him.

I’m thrilled the reds just said no.

Rob Bell, Chris Reitsma, and Matt Belisle did NOTHING for you?

Denny Neagle! Mark Wohlers! Steve Avery!
Wow, the Reds got a lot of Braves castoff pitchers in the 2000s. How come none of them were Greg Maddux?

Neagle did a decent job for the reds

Not only did the Nationals steal our players
They stole our strategy.

I was always a Rob Bell and Chris Reitsma fan
but of course I did end up at a certain establishment in Centerville with Reitsma….

I have no memory of Rob Bell
I looked him up, apparently he made 26 starts for the Reds in 2000.

We should be even glader that the Reds didn't pay Adam Dunn %0 some million bucks as well.
