this should be a fanshot
Unless you are interviewing him via telephone. That can be front paged. Twice!

Mid-American Emmy Award winner?! Zoinks!
Does anybody else feel disappointed when they check the Dayton boxscore and see that Torreyes only got one hit?

we need a recap, dammit
SB Nation crashed hard just when Renteria hit his walkoff single. We didn’t get a chance to savor the victory.

Skip the debate: The Reds need a new coaching staff.
Just noticed, watching that clip
that Zack Cozart ran out to congratulate Renteria and was hugging him and smacking him. Gotta figure that if he was too worried about his elbow, or if it was too sore, that he wouldn’t have gotten in the mix like that.
I’m really hopeful he’ll be back when his DL time is up.
It feels so nice to be back to normal
I thought the McCovey Chron. recap was interesting.

About EdRent:
I’m going to guess he’s hitting .100/.099/.101.

This was amusing

His brace is off, and he did some throwing and hitting off a tee yesterday
But no word on the ETA for his return.
I noticed that last night
I was kinda worried it was going to be a Grammatica moment. He was awfully enthusiastic.
All Things Bubba: Because how can you not love a baseball player named Bubba?
It was last night, too
At least in some areas of the country. I got the Phillies game, and I suspect I’ll get the Yankees game tonight.

Storm took out our power most of last night.

Denard Span?
They want “a proven closer” , and granted I think they would be insane to want Coco and w/e else we’d provide, but Id be a fan of Span in our OF. Its Nothing sexy.
But a guy who gets on base, and has good plate discipline could do wonders for a team who likes to swing as much as the Reds. Granted the toothpick could change all that.
Booo!
hisssss…
I wonder if he’ll get hurt every game this season, or if Hoke will done down the running a bit.
I also enjoy the ill timing of "lets get ready to win's" premiere
All of redleg nation has been ready to win again, especially during this last month.

Got a text from my sister saying she met Aroldis last night at a bar in Mt Adams.
I’m jealous.
Let a man come in and do the Popcorn.
Damn.
Of all current Reds players, I think I’d like to meet him the most. Maybe Bruce. But probably Aroldis.
I don’t even speak much Spanish, but it’d still be sweet.

I do have more respect for Patterson after learning that he and Votto are very close.
Maybe in the end his helping Votto feel comfortable made his year with the Reds worth it. Maybe Votto used his Canadian to steal all of CPat’s first round draft pick powers.

Not sure what this amateur game is on MLBNet
But its the top of the 2nd, no outs and its 9-1. There have been 2 successful steals of home plate by the “MVP” team.

Man. The Astros' system went from "crap" to "not deep, but at least there's something there" overnight.

If they trade Bourn and any of Wandy/Myers, they might lose 110 games.
It feels so nice to be back to normal
What's interesting
is that the Astros are going to be possibly historically bad this year, and probably really bad next year as well. But they’re building a solid base for the future.
But the way the Cubs are playing this (not trading off assets, not truly rebuilding) they could easily be really bad for a while.

Allow me to introduce you to the first expansion teams

If the world truly does end in 2012, that means we have just one more chance to win the World Series.
Not sure who looked at this but ...
The 62 N.L. disaster … the Cubs were worse than the Colts.
The 61 A.L. disaster, Charlie Finley, who owned the A’s, whimsied that there could be two teams that would lose 100 games, hinting it would be the Angels and the Senators.
If the world truly does end in 2012, that means we have just one more chance to win the World Series.
I didn't mean that far back
The ’93 NL East (another expansion year) was pretty bad too, if not ’62 NL bad.
I meant in the short division, wild card era. Right now the Cubs and Astros are below .400. I haven’t looked it up, but I’d bet that hasn’t happened since the most recent realignment.
Worst I found in this century is ... 2002 and 2001 is bad
Anything with the Royals and Orioles has a chance.

I think most of the Dusty bashing around here has been overstated, but not playing Alonso and Frazier is ridiculous
May as well send them back to Louisville.
What sucks
is that 3 of the next 5 days they are facing a LHP.
I’m so tired of rooting against players on my own team, but Dusty forces me to do it.
It feels so nice to be back to normal
Dusty is just trying to win.
He knows what it’s all about. Just have some faith.

Nothing groundbreaking, but a pleasant way to spend an hour. If nothing else, it’s fun to see the staff’s reactions to the clinch. I’ll be curious to know what you think!

that was my favorite part, too
When Bruce hit that walkoff homer, and everyone dropped everything and went running.
