What prospects are we willing to give up?
What prospects are we willing to give up for Ubaldo Jimenez or James Shields? The players mentioned include: Yonder Alonso, Yasmani Grandal and Kyle Lotzkar. What other players do we think are gonna be included and which ones can we live without?
I think that Valaika might be included along with Ryan Lamarre. With some of the below average numbers that our other prospects are putting up who is the organization gonna give up to acquire one of these two pitchers?

Considering that the Reds would need to win like 68% of the rest of their games to win the division, I'd say none.
Ubaldo being shopped is super fishy, and Shields is in his first good year, but we’ll see what happens. The Reds are sellers.
I'd consider Shields as he is under team control through 2014
It would be similar to picking up Rolen when we were out of contention a couple years ago. It gives us a better chance of aligning the planets and making a Coloradoesque run for the Division this year. Then, sets up the rotation awfully nicely for the next few years… Cueto, Shields, Chapman, Leake, Bailey, Wood.
Players I don't give up
Devin Mesoraco. Anyone else should be available in my opinion. Mesoraco is both polished and a need. No one else truly fits that bill in the system.
Agreed.

Anyone, in the right trade
no prospect is untouchable
Did we learn nothing from trading Z. Stewart? How’s he looking in Toronto? How many Cy Youngs does he have?
The ends justify the means
I agree with your sentiment. However, Zack Steward was never a really big time prospect.
He had some good numbers, but at no time was he really up there.

Zach Stewart
Is actually no longer in Toronto.
But what does that have to do with anything at all? Oh, because someone once said don’t trade him to Toronto he might win some Cy Young’s with that pitching coach who seemingly was getting a ton out of guys less talented than him? Some people just never let anything die, as if they have never made a statement that was wrong before.
And sure, if Toronto calls and wants to trade Bautista for Mesoraco, of course you make that deal. But that isn’t going to happen.
I saw that Z. Stew got traded, but didn't remember the new team
and we could and should trade Mesoraco for a lot less than Joey Bats
If we think we have to hold onto our best for blockbusters, than we’ll end up in situations where we currently reside
