Call up time

Pitchers: Dontrelle Willis

Ok, we are now nearing the end of June. We have 5 mid rotation starters, with all of them being very inconsistent.
The only starting pitcher that is not a mid rotation guy is Cueto. Volquez, Arroyo, Leake,Wood and Bailey are all inconsistent. Maybe its time to give Dontrelle Willis a shot for a few starts? Outside of Arroyo, he is the most experienced of all our pitchers. He still isnt pitching deep into games in AAA, but neither is anyone else.

Position Players:

Dave Sappelt, Zack Cozart, Danny Dorn, Devin Mesoraco(?), Yonder Alonso and Jeremy Hermida.

Mesoraco is the only one that doesnt have to be called up, our catchers play good defense and give us just enough offense. Edgar Renteria HAS to go. His defense is suspect and he looks lost at the plate. Janish is a very good spot starter and the best defensive replacement on our bench. But Cozart has to get a chance. Every report says his defense is above average and he has to be better than Janish at the plate. Ive seen Cozart in the field but he wasnt required to do much the days Ive seen him play.

Shoot me, but I like Jonny Gomes. Gomes is a high energy guy and he is picking it up in June. His defense is OK, but he does hustle.Fred Lewis or Chris Heisey need to be optioned. I would prefer Sappelt in their place. I have seem him play, he is very confident and competent at the plate and he does play good defense.

Hermida and Alonso would be best bets for trade bait out of this group. I personally dont see the MLB bat in Alonso. I think if we hold on to him he is gonna lose value. Hermida is an experienced and cheap option for some other team in the Majors. Dudes batting .349 in AAA and he is 27. Now is a good time.

Danny Dorn deserves his own paragraph. Dude has been in our system for awhile and this year has to be his best year so far. He is only batting .282, but he has 11 homers and 45 RBI's. Give him a shot! He has played outfield and only recently moved to 1st ( to get Alonso in left). Thats all I've got.

Chris Heisey optioned?

Somehow, I don’t think that’s gonna happen.

Probably not Heisey

He finally had a good game at the play last night, but with the group of guys they could bring up, we might be able to get a little replacement in pinch hitting situations. I think it has to be Lewis, there is no loyalty on either side of his contract.

Wow this made me laugh.

Gomes defense is ok?

Alonso doesn’t have a major league bat?

Heisey should be optioned?

Hermida is good? I guess that is why we DFA’d him and no one picked him up, and then we brought him up for a week or two and then dumped him back in the minors. No one would trade for him.

Danny Dorn should get a shot? Dorn was terrible in LF, and isn’t even that good of a 1st basemen. I agree that he puts up good AAA numbers, but there has to be a big reason why he hasn’t seen the majors. He can’t even get picked up in the Rule 5 draft.

Yeah

Heisey plays the best defense out of the group of Left Fielders and he had his first good game at the plate yesterday. I said “Lewis or Heisey” . Heisey is alright, but only as a bat off the bench, If some of these other guys are brought up then his bat would be replaced in pinch hitting situations. Hermida is raking in AAA. TRADE HIM! Dont call him up.

Alonso reminds me of Brandon Larson. Im not sayin, just sayin.

That comp would make more sense if he struck out as much as Larson did

but he doesn’t. What exactly is the reason you have him pegged as a non-ML player? You haven’t given any reasons to think that yet (not saying you’re wrong, just that you’d need to have good reasons to come to that conclusion).

Yeah, Alonso is really nothing like Larson

He walks more and Ks a LOT less.

Their last names are only one letter off from being anagrams!

And their first names both have o-n-d-r. They’re totally the same person.

You want to make this many roster changes ...

… to a team that is one short winning streak out of first place.
There are reasons why AAA is not spelled MLB.

Technically, only one of the changes would be for a position player starter position. That would be SS. The LF situation is going to be a platoon all year. Is anyone capable of comprehending what they read?

uh...

don’t be a dick. Two people misreading is not everyone. If it is everyone, then you would have to reread and reconsider what you wrote.
