- Louisville lost both games of their doubleheader to Norfolk, 4-0 and 2-1. Dontrelle Willis pitched well in Game 1, going 6 innings and giving up 4 runs, striking out 10 hitters and only walking 1. Unfortunately, the offense could only muster up 3 damn hits. Matt Maloney started the second game, going 5 1/3 innings and giving up 1 run with 5 strikeouts. Eric Eymann went 2-for-3, and Yonder Alonso drove in the only run for the Bats in the doubleheader. Up next: Bats are off today. They'll take on Buffalo tomorrow at 7:05.
- Carolina beat Montgomery 7-0 behind a solid performance by Matt Klinker. Klinker pitched 5 shutout innings, and struck out 4. All 9 of the Mudcats starters had at least 1 hit, and Mike Costanzo and Kevin Coddington had multi-hit games. Up next: Daryl Thompson takes on Montgomery at 7:15.
- Bakersfield blew a 5-3 lead in the 8th inning to lose 6-5. Josh Ravin actually had a good start, going 6 innings and giving up 3 runs with 7 strikeouts, but Tzu-Kai Chiu gave up an unearned run in the 8th and Mace Thurman gave up 2 in the 9th to blow the lead. The 8th and 9th hitters for the Blaze stepped up huge, as Brodie Greene went 3-for-4 and Stephen Hunt went 4-for-4 with 2 doubles. Hunt raised his average to .521 in 48 at bats, which I think is good. Up next: Pedro Villarreal takes the mound against Lake Elsinore, a 9:05 start.

Dayton finished last night's postponed game, and then played a 7-inning game, losing both of them. They lost the first game 6-2. Daniel Renken had a quality start, going 6 innings and giving up 3 runs with 10 strikeouts, his second game in a row with that many. David Vidal had 2 hits for the good guys. They got blanked 6-0 in the second game, after a rough start by Tim Crabbe. Duran and Jaren Matthews had the Dragons' only two hits. Up next: Josh Smith goes up against South Bend at 7 to keep building on his solid season so far.
