Farmers Only: There was a base for this story, but Billy Hamilton just stole it

  • Louisville lost 12-6 to Durham.  Matt Maloney started the game and was not impressive, going 6 innings and giving up 8 runs (7 ER).  Juan Francisco, Todd Frazier, and Jeremy Hermida all had two hits each, and Chris Valaika drove in 3 runs.  Up next: The Bats will try their luck against Durham again at 7:05, with Scott Carroll taking the hill.
  • Carolina had the night off.  They'll be back in action today at 7:15, with the started to be announced.
  • Bakersfield beat Stockton 6-3.  Henry Rodriguez led the way on offense, going 3-for-4 with 3 doubles, and Brodie Greene, Josh Fellhauer, and Yasmani Grandal all added two hits each.  Josh Ravin struck out 6 and gave up 2 runs in his 4 innings of work, and Clayton Shunick pitched 3 innings to earn the win.  Up next: Pedro Villarreal takes the mound at 10:30.
  • Dayton lost 4-3 to Great Lakes.  Tanner Robles got the start and went 5 innings, giving up 4 runs in his outing.  Pat Doyle, James Walczak, and Daniel Wolford combined for 4 shutout innings of relief.  Billy Hamilton was 1-for-4 with a walk, which naturally means that he stole 3 bases in that span to bring his season total to 32.  David Vidal was 2-for-5 with his 5th homer of the year.  Up next: Daniel Renken takes on Lake County at 7.
