It was really nice of the Reds to let the Diamondbacks win their home opener and Kirk Gibson's home debut as the manager. Now it's time to get back to business as usual, and that business is being the outrageous offensive juggernaut we saw in the first 5 games of the year.
West Coast road trips are always hard on the Reds, but a series win is still a distinct possibility. The good thing about the game last night is that when they weren't striking out, the Reds were hitting the ball pretty hard, save a few popup-happy guys who will remain nameless. The Reds had almost twice as many fly outs as they did groundouts last night, and despite a very solid 8 innings from Ian Kennedy, they still managed 8 hits. It'd be really nice to get Jay Bruce to not chase the low breaking ball, which has been harder on him than Prince Fielder's waist is on his belt (shut up, this was put together in a hurry).
So here's to Goodroyo! Happy Saturday!
