- Louisville won both games of their doubleheader against Columbus. They won the opener 4-2 behind a 3-for-3 day by Jeremy Hermida. Hermida also added a solo homer, his 2nd of the year. Tom Cochran started the game and went 5 innings of solid 2-run ball. Game 2 was even more exciting, as the Bats overcame a 3-run deficit in the final inning to win 5-4 in extras. Zack Cozart and Chris Valaika both singled runs home, and Valaika almost scored to win the game but was gunned down at the plate, forcing extra innings. In the next inning, the heroic Devin Mesoraco took a Josh Judy pitch over the center field wall to win in walk-off fashion, his 3rd of the season and an at-bat he might not have got if Corky Miller wasn't pinch-ran for in the final inning. Up next: Louisville faces Indianapolis at 7:05, starter to be announced.
